What happens in an online English speaking club

How a session runs

1. Welcome. Everyone meets in the main room. The host introduces the topic of the day.
2. Breakout rooms by level. Small groups, each with a room page that guides the conversation: a warm-up, a short story, useful phrases and discussion questions. Every topic has an easier and a harder version.
3. Help with words. Hard words are underlined, with translations into 10 languages.
4. Back together. The groups return to the main room for final comments and goodbyes.

Speaking rooms, any hour

Between clubs, members use the speaking rooms, open 24/7. Pick a topic, say how many of you there are, how long you have and your level, and the page runs the whole session: it asks the questions and keeps the time. Use them on a call with friends or on your own. Open the rooms demo.

Tips for your first club

• Read the topic before the call, so you already have one thing to say.
• Say one sentence in the first five minutes. It gets easier after that.
• Keep your camera off if you like. Mistakes are welcome.
